Week 7 Certificates

Last week we had four children from Room 9/9a receive certificates at the Koru assembly. 
Well done to Gavin, Andrea, Ruby and Phoenix!

Making Jelly

Last week Room 9 and 9a made jelly. 

We talked about how the jelly crystals were a solid but when we put the hot water in, the crystals dissolved and turned into a liquid. 

We went and put it in the fridge. 

When we got it out after lunch it was not a liquid anymore! 

We all got to try some jelly. 

We loved it!

 

Measuring Each Other

On Friday Room 9 went outside with some some chalk to measure each other. 

We first had to draw around everyone in our group. The hard part was making sure that our feet all started in the same place!

We then used pointers to measure the length of our bodies.

What a fun activity it was!

Koru Whanau Disco

On Friday we had the Koru Whanau disco. There were lots of Room 9 children there.

Certificates

This week at our whole school assembly, two children from Room 9 received a certificate. 

Well done to Leo and Phoenix!

They have both worked so hard!

A Wonderful Enviro Lesson

Room 9 had the best enviro lesson with Mrs Daniel last week!

They all went down to our school garden and dug out some kumara that had been growing in there. Then at lunch time Mrs Daniel went and cooked it for us!

Here we are enjoying the kumara that we got out of the garden ourselves. 

2D shapes

We have been learning about 2D shapes.

We used the shapes to make a picture, we drew around them and coloured them in to make lovely 2D shape pictures. 

Our first day in Room 9

We had a great time in the home corner.

We loved drawing and colouring at one of the Writing tables. 

The train track is awesome!

We have made friends already!

We started to make a display All About Me with Miss Bycroft. 

Mrs Burge read Jaylee's Transition to school booklet.

We all got certificates to celebrate our first day at school.

What a fun day we had!
