Measuring Each Other

On Friday Room 9 went outside with some some chalk to measure each other. 

We first had to draw around everyone in our group. The hard part was making sure that our feet all started in the same place!

We then used pointers to measure the length of our bodies.

What a fun activity it was!

Room 9a ASB GetWise programme

Marlon taught us so much about coins and notes. We learned a song about how we need to save some, spend some and share some money. 

Marlon was funny - he made us laugh while we were learning.

We sorted coins and notes.

Elizabeth helped us to learn about saving, sharing and spending our money.

ASB GetWise

Last week we had Marlon from ASB come in to teach us about money. 

He taught us about the different types of money. 

He also told us that when we have money we should save some, spend some and share some. 

Room 9 absolutely loved this session.

Learning About Quarters

Lately we have been learning about fractions.

Last week we looked at quarters. 

Here we are cutting some shapes into quarters. 

We did a fantastic job!

Fun in Maths

We were practicing counting out a number of beans to 10. We are getting clever at doing this. 

We have lots of fun while we learn. 

Learning Mandarin

The Mandarin learning assistant came to Room 9 to teach us how to write the numbers 1-10 in mandarin.

Mrs Harding was teaching in Room 9 today.

Iyra did a super job of learning to match numbers to 10 with objects.

Splatter Butterflies

This week in Maths we were learning about symmetry.

We thought it would be fun to create some symmetrical butterflies using paint. 

Look at how great they look! They are all so different and colourful.

2D shapes

We have been learning about 2D shapes.

We used the shapes to make a picture, we drew around them and coloured them in to make lovely 2D shape pictures.
